The Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children — also known as LuskinOIC — recently organized a ‘Christmas in July’ event. This initiative was designed to bring seasonal joy while addressing practical needs for underserved youth in Los Angeles.

‘Christmas in July’ combined festive elements like Santa Claus appearances and entertainment with the distribution of educational materials. LuskinOIC provided backpacks filled with school supplies to children from low-income families, as well as to pediatric patients receiving orthopedic care. The occasion featured participation from several young celebrity ambassadors and a UCLA athlete.

Beyond the immediate festivities, the ‘Christmas in July’ event highlighted LuskinOIC’s broader mission as a nonprofit pediatric orthopedic provider that delivers care regardless of patients’ financial circumstances. The nonprofit serves a population where over 85% lack adequate insurance coverage.
