NBCUniversal has announced it is increasing the prices of its Peacock subscription plans. Its ad-supported Premium plan will rise from $8 to $11 per month, while its ad-free Premium Plus plan will go from $14 to $17 per month. This means you’ll soon pay an extra $3 each month for Peacock, regardless of which plan you have.
Additionally, Peacock’s yearly plans are also set to increase in price. The ad-supported Premium plan will rise from $80 to $110 per year, and the Premium Plus plan will go from $140 to $170 per year. According to Bloomberg, these price changes will take effect for new customers on July 23, while current subscribers won’t see the increase until August 22.
Peacock is known as the streaming home for NBC shows, movies, and sports content, including the upcoming series The Paper, a follow-up to NBC’s popular show The Office, which is scheduled to debut this September.

Peacock’s ad plan will soon be pricier than HBO Max
NBCUniversal last raised the price of Peacock a year ago
NBC/Peacock
With Peacock’s price hike taking effect on July 23, the streaming service will soon be more expensive than some of its biggest competitors. With Peacock’s ad-supported plan rising to $11, it’s now pricier than HBO Max’s ad-supported plan, which costs $10 a month, and Disney+’s, which is also $10 a month.
However, NBCUniversal has announced that it will soon start testing a new “Select” tier on Peacock, which will cost $8 per month. Reportedly, this tier will only include current seasons of NBC and Bravo shows, along with a select assortment of content, so it doesn’t sound like it will have access to everything on the platform, unlike its Premium and Premium Plus plans.
The last time Peacock raised prices was a year ago, when it increased them by $2 a month. So this $3 hike is its biggest yet. The cost of streaming continues to rise, with other services, such as YouTube TV and Netflix, raising prices earlier this year.
