The ‘Sun Day’ app is a location-based digital tool created with sun safety in mind to help users stay on top of their daily UV exposure. The app works by utilizing the user’s location to offer data related to the local UV index as well as the sunlight hours, while also allowing for user-submitted data including skin type and clothing level to be incorporated. The app will then provide users with an estimate of how long they can safely stay in the sunshine to get the optimal amount of vitamin D without running the risk of sunburn.
The ‘Sun Day’ app was developed by Jacket Dorsey and is available now for iOS users to try out on TestFlight with the code available on GitHub.
