FRI delivers high-resolution flood extent data within approximately 6 to 12 hours of the initial onset of a flooding event. By leveraging ICEYE’s proprietary synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation, FRI enables consistent flood monitoring regardless of cloud cover or time of day — a crucial advantage for real-time emergency decision-making.
The flood impact data is analyzed using advanced machine learning models and made available through the ICEYE Solutions Event Intelligence Hub. Updates are continuously provided every 6 to 12 hours for the duration of the flood event, supporting rapid situational awareness and response coordination.
This capability is underpinned by ICEYE’s in-house meteorology and hazard monitoring team, which operates 24/7 year-round to proactively track global weather patterns and dispatch satellite resources as flood risks emerge.
