The Minisforum N5 AI NAS is a five-bay network-attached storage solution built around an AMD Ryzen 7 255 processor with eight Zen 4 cores and 16 threads, supporting boost clocks up to 4.9 GHz and integrated Radeon 780M graphics. Its compact chassis (199 × 202 × 252 mm) accommodates up to five 3.5″ HDDs and three M.2 2280 SSDs, and offers an internal PCIe ×16 slot for optional GPU or network-card expansion. Memory capacity reaches 96 GB of DDR5-5600 across two SO-DIMM slots, providing headroom for high-concurrency workloads and large file handling.

The unit ships with MiniCloud OS—offering features such as ZFS snapshots, LZ4 compression, Docker support, and AI-enabled media libraries—and also supports Windows 11 Pro and major Linux distributions. Front and rear I/O include dual 10 GbE and 5 GbE Ethernet ports, two USB4 (40 Gbps) ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB 2.0 port, an OCuLink interface, HDMI 2.1 output, and an SD 4.0 card reader. A 280 W power supply and dual 92 mm fans ensure stable operation, positioning the N5 AI NAS as a versatile platform for home, prosumer, and small-office environments that demand both high-capacity storage and local AI acceleration.
