Juror From Diddy Trial Reportedly Reacts To Backlash For The Mixed Verdict

On Thursday, July 3, ABC News published a report, asserting that the outlet spoke with a juror from the Diddy trial. Furthermore, the juror reportedly asked to remain unnamed as they voiced concerns about “potential online abuse and cyber harassment.” In addition, they told the outlet that opinions that “celebrity influence” played a role in Diddy’s mixed verdict are “highly insulting and belittling to the jury and the deliberation process.”

“We spent over two days deliberating. Our decision was based solely on the evidence presented and how the law is stated,” they told the outlet. “We would have treated any defendant in the same manner regardless of who they are. I have nothing else to say.”

More Details On The Mixed Verdict In The 55-Year-Old’s Trial

As The Shade Room previously reported, after a more than month-long trial, Diddy was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution charges on Wednesday, July 2. However, although the 55-year-old was found guilty on those charges, he was found not guilty on multiple counts of sex trafficking. Additionally, he was found guilty on a charge of racketeering.

In the hours that followed, the 55-year-old’s defense team reportedly submitted a $1 million bond proposal, per The Shade Room. Furthermore, the proposal was signed by Diddy, his mother, Janice Combs, his sister, and Sarah Chapman, the mother of his oldest daughter.

The proposal offered that Diddy’s travel would be restricted. Specifically, he would only travel to California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Furthermore, this would largely be to access his residences and meet with his lawyers. Lastly, Diddy offered to submit his passport, submit to drug testing, and other standard supervision conditions.

As The Shade Room previously reported, the 55-year-old’s proposal was largely protested by the lawyer of his ex-girlfriend and alleged abuse victim, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. In addition, the judge presiding over his case reportedly received letters from others expressing concern over his potential release.

Ultimately, on Wednesday, July 2, Diddy’s bond proposal was denied. As The Shade Room previously reported, the judge expressed concern over Diddy’s “violent and illegal conduct.”

“This highlights a disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence,” the judge told the court.

In reaction, the 55-year-old reportedly appeared “deflated” at the judge’s decision. Now, he will reportedly await his sentencing, tentatively scheduled for October 3, from behind bars at Metropolitan Detention Center.
