‘Taxi Driver’ Season 3 Set To Air On Viu In Q4; ‘My Youth’ Starring Song Joong-Ki Will Premiere In Q3

OTT platform Viu and Korean network SBS will release the third season of Taxi Driver in Q4 this year, with Korean star Lee Je-hoon (Move to Heaven) returning to the cast alongside Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin and Bae Yoo-ram.

The new season will premiere as a Viu Original worldwide, excluding South Korea and mainland China.

Lee Je-hoon will reprises his role as Kim Do-gi, the brilliant yet tormented vigilante in the series, which is written by Oh Sang-ho and directed by Kang Bo-seung.

Hong Kong singer-actor Edan Lui (from boy group Mirror) will make his Korean drama debut as a character in the series who forms an unpredictable alliance with Kim Do-gi.

Based on a webtoon titled “Red Cage,” the first season of the series aired in 2021 on SBS and became one of the broadcaster’s top-performing shows for the year.

Additionally, Korean romance drama My Youth, starring Song Joong-ki, is scheduled for release on Viu in Q3 this year, along with My Girlfriend Is a Man!, which stars Astro’s Yoon San-ha, Oh My Girl’s Arin, Yoo Jung-hoo and Loona’s Chuu.

Chinese dramas Immortal Ascension and Love’s Ambition, Indonesian series Rintik Terakhir and Secret High School and Malaysian titles Putri & Phrince and Seadanya Kita will also premiere in Q3.

12 new Malay titles are also in the pipeline at Viu, encompassing co-productions with Malaysian studios like Rumah Karya Citra and Global Station, along with Indonesian content from the Viu and MAXStream Originals partnership with Indonesia’s Telkomsel.

“We are delighted to introduce Taxi Driver 3 through our trusted and long-standing partnership with Viu, a platform with strong global influence and reach,” said Park Jeong-hoon, CEO of Studio S, the in-house production arm of SBS Media Group. “Our production team is working diligently to create a high-quality drama that lives up to the legacy of Seasons 1 and 2, striving to meet and exceed the expectations of viewers.”

Janice Lee, CEO of Viu and Managing Director of PCCW Media Group, said: “Our fresh slate of titles reinforces our commitment to compelling storytelling that resonates locally and travels globally. In 2025, we are bringing new international collaborations such as Taxi Driver 3, My Youth and The Season, delivering authentic, locally rooted productions with cross-border appeal.

“By working alongside world-leading studio partners and by showcasing local and global talent, we hope to continue to support the creative industry while featuring fresh narratives and cultural richness that captivate audiences worldwide,” added Lee.
