Ana Bridgewater’s bio Corallo lighting installation was showcased during the 3daysofdesign festival in Copenhagen this year. The project represented a significant advancement in sustainable design by merging cutting-edge 3D printing technology with organic aesthetics.
The bio Corallo lighting installation showcased Ana Bridgewater’s innovative porcelain composite material, which combined the precision of digital fabrication with the tactile qualities of traditional ceramics while prioritizing ecological responsibility through locally sourced, low-impact production methods. Inspired by marine forms, the sculptural lighting pieces demonstrated how computational design can emulate natural fluidity to create objects that appear grown rather than manufactured. The products were free from plastic, as well.
The bio Corallo lighting installation highlighted Ana Bridgewater’s interdisciplinary approach, where material science intersects with biophilic design principles to redefine the possibilities of eco-conscious lighting and sustainable luxury goods.
