British designer John Pawson has created the Whitescale collection, which is a tonal palette that is made up only of white colors. This includes milk, salt, and marble, to name a few — it was all unveiled during the 3 Days of Design. Pawson worked with Copenhagen-based color and surface brand Bleo.
Whitescale was described as “a meticulously calibrated gradient of whites,” with hues based on mineral and vegetable references. Grønskov explained more about the collection “Right now, they’re developing the 15th colour, which is more ashy and greyish. There were some colours where it took forever to get the right tone – it was so difficult, also because the light is changing. For Pawson’s team, it was super important that [the colours] referenced the real world.”
