Way too many people get hustled by BS artists. Don’t fall for this one.

Beware of Scammers During Your Job Search

When you get a message from someone like I did today that says, “We’re preparing to submit a curated list of standout résumés to hiring managers this Thursday and I’d love to ensure yours is among the top contenders. To do that, your resume needs to be updated to at least 90% readiness. I’ll check back with you in five minutes to see how things are going, just let me know once you’ve accessed the link,” especially one that doesn’t exist.

So the point I want to make is a lot of the scam scenarios on LinkedIn are hustle, hustle, hurry, hurry. We need it right now. Must have it right now. We want to include your resume right now. And they’re trying to take advantage of people who are anxious, who need to find a job.

And the long and the short of it is whenever you see something like this in your inbox, and it’s an email, as a message, or something you’ve shared—I shared a piece of content and someone reshared it and included that message—respond by saying, “I would never submit a resume without knowing what role I would be considered for. Let me know what it is and I’ll make a decision as to whether or not I want to give you the resume.” And you know what? You’ll probably never hear from them again.

I have a lot more great information available at jobsearch.com community. Go to the site, go exploring there, download the free stuff, get the free stuff from me, and then become an insider so I can coach you and you get access to everything else. And I’m adding a lot more with regularity.
