I received a connection request from someone and LinkedIn attempted to get me to pause and ask them to verify their identity before connecting.
LinkedIn Mistakes: The Skimpy Profile
LinkedIn is putting a big push on for people to verify their profiles. It’s showing up when you send out a connection request to someone and there’s no obvious connection between the two of you. So now they’re putting a message into the, uh, the, uh, the message that’s sent to you and it says something like, “Don’t know so and so, ask them to verify their profile information before responding for added security”. And there’s a “Request now” option highlighted below.
Folks, start verifying your LinkedIn identity. It’s an annoying process, I know. It’s not that difficult; you have to provide them with a couple of things. But it’s going to get you more connection requests faster because there are people that you’re messaging who you don’t know, and they’re going to start clicking, asking you to verify your profile anyway. So get it done.
