Meet Tiptoe. Named because the tips of his feet and tip of his tail were white. A little over 17 years this guy has served as one of my companions.
Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago he had a nasty ear infection, and the vet found a tumor in his ear when he went in for a follow up. Last week he stopped grooming himself entirely. This week he stopped eating and drinking. Had to give him water and super liquified food through a syringe so he’d at least get something in him. Didn’t want to accept it at first but my boy’s on his way out. Monday morning he’ll be put to rest, and then buried with the rest of our cats in my parents’ garden.
Just wanted to scream into the void a bit before I cry like a bitch all weekend, and then even harder come Monday.
It never gets any easier to say goodbye.
