I want to talk to those of you who are ready to give up on your job search because it’s hard. It is hard. I’m not going to try and convince you to the contrary.
You’re sending out resumes and hearing nothing back. You’re going on interviews and getting ghosted. You’re watching people less qualified than you find jobs faster than you, and you’re starting to think, “Maybe it’s me”.
Well, assuming you’re doing the right things, I’ll just simply say it’s not you, or at least probably not you. Because the idea is maybe you’re not doing things the right way, but let’s assume that it’s not you for a second. It’s a system that favors people who know how to work it. And the ones who win don’t just simply work harder; they get smarter. They get better at the process. They attract people to them. They network their brains out. They learn what hiring managers look for. They tweak, they test, they keep going. That’s the game, and you don’t win it by walking off the field and giving up.
