Designer Thomas Heatherwick creates the In-Side collection of outdoor furniture for Magis. The pieces are defined by what looks like an impossible shell, which was created to protect a conceptual creature that is out of this world. Heatherwick explains, “The idea behind this new collection is to use waste materials and reveal their inner beauty in an unexpected way.”

The pieces are made with extensive research, which are integrated into their materiality, detailing, and production methods. The collection highlights a rippled molding on the outside and then features a colored fleck accent on the interior. This is made from a blend of recycled polyethylene collected from post-consumer and post-industrial construction processes as a larger part of a greener design.
