Suburban Home Garden Extensions : palm house

Leeton Pointon Architects + Interiors designed the Palm House found in a residential lot in Victoria, Australia to bring attention to how an outdated home can be reimagined to accommodate an evolving family life. The project integrates new life into the suburban home first built in the 40s.

At the root of the project is the belief that they should work with what exists. Instead of leaning into the option of demolition, the architects have chosen to retain most of the original structure. The change was strategic and there is also a new extension which is described as the ‘garden room.’ It is set in a curated space, and the addition embraces the natural environment.
