Compact Titanium Bit Drivers : fixboy

The FixBoy is a compact titanium bit driver designed for ease of access and practicality in a range of repair and maintenance tasks. Manufactured by Eck Studio, a Hong Kong-based company, the tool is constructed from Grade 5 titanium and is available with either a stonewashed silver or anodized black finish. When not in use, the FixBoy measures 45 mm in length by 20 mm in width and weighs approximately 31.1 g. Its revolver-chamber design incorporates five magnetic storage slots configured to house a set of 4-mm S2 steel bits, including slotted, Phillips, Torx (T6 and T8), and hex options. Additionally, the device supports the use of third-party bits, enhancing its versatility and functionality.

The FixBoy is engineered with practical features, such as a spring-loaded bolt-action mechanism that extends the bit socket by 17 mm, providing extra reach when necessary. Further design elements include a rotating disc on the top that aligns an access hole with the specific bit slot for efficient bit removal, as well as a lanyard hole for secure attachment. The device is complemented by several accessory options, including an insertable pen or pencil and add-ons such as a leather holster, a 12-piece bit set, and titanium key rings. Currently part of a Kickstarter campaign, the FixBoy is offered with an initial pledge of US$49, with a planned retail price set at US$89 upon production.
