Japan now has its first yeast-derived milk alternative, Asahi Like Milk, made with proprietary yeast technology in response to food allergies and other dietary preferences. Like Milk is not just dairy-free, it excludes 28 major allergens and retains a nutritional profile that rivals cow-derived milk.
Taste and texture are major concerns for consumers in search of milk alternatives, and Like Milk satisfies with a mild, naturally sweet flavor and no strong aftertaste.
With Like Milk, Asahi aims to address food diversity and open up more possibilities for everyone to enjoy food without restrictions. Asahi Like Milk launched in 200ml paper containers, and a 1000ml size is expected to follow as part of a test release later in 2025.
