DHS Leaks Wife’s Address, Forcing Family Into Hiding

Yup, you read that right, DHS reportedly posted a 2021 protective order on X for over 2.4 million people to see. And, this document exposed the house where Jennifer lives with her three kids. DHS tried to play it off, but immigrant rights advocates and Democratic leaders aren’t having it. In a statement to The Independent, DHS said “these are public documents that anyone could get access to.”

Jennifer admits their relationship had ups and downs, including a 2021 incident where she briefly filed, then withdrew, a protective order. In a conversation with The Washington Post, she said that their relationship faced serious challenges like financial strain and the demands of raising children with special needs. She also said that constant fear and instability began in 2019, when Abrego Garcia was first detained by immigration authorities.

In response to her address leaking, she told The Washington Post,

“I don’t feel safe when the government posts my address, the house where my family lives, for everyone to see, especially when this case has gone viral and people have all sorts of opinions. So, this is definitely a bit terrifying. I’m scared for my kids.”

Deported Dad’s Case Ignites Outrage And Fear

Back in March, Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia was reportedly taken from his Maryland home and deported to El Salvador despite a 2019 court order explicitly blocking his removal. ICE agents allegedly claimed his immigration status had “changed.” Ultimately, he was swiftly deported under allegations that he was affiliated with the MS-13 gang. The group is now classified as a foreign terrorist organization. This controversial move has sparked nationwide outrage, especially as Garcia reportedly had an open immigration case at the time.

Since then, the Supreme Court has reportedly stepped in, ruling that Garcia should be immediately returned to the U.S. and reunited with his family. However, officials tied to the Trump administration have claimed that reversing the deportation won’t be so simple—or fast.

What Happen’s Next For The Family?

Nonetheless, according to the George Washington Law Review, in a unanimous decision authored by Chief Justice John Roberts, the Court affirmed the lawlessness of Mr. Abrego Garcia’s removal to a Salvadoran prison, and that the removal to El Salvador was therefore illegal.

As his family awaits an update, Sura has reportedly continued advocating for her husband’s return, per MSNBC News.

“Enough is enough. My family can’t be robbed from another day without seeing Kilmar. This administration has already taken so much from my children, from Kilmar’s mother, brother, sisters and me,” she reportedly told the press last week.
