What’s Wrong With Lil Nas X’s Face?

Up to this point, Lil Nas X hasn’t fully explained the diagnosis regarding his facial muscles. As mentioned, the video shows him attempting to move the right side with no success. Meanwhile, on the left side of his face, everything appeared to be moving as normal. The hitmaker tried several times to smile fully, only to get a lopsided result with only half of his teeth showing. He laughed as he demonstrated, though it’s unclear if that was from the nerves. “Oh my God, bro,” he repeated a few times.

An hour after sharing his hospital bed video, Nas hopped on Instagram Stories with his playful approach to the medical emergency. In the first post, he showed close-ups of his facial movements and lack of. “I’m so cooked,” he wrote with laughing emojis. In a second IGS post, he assured fans, writing, “GUYS I AM OK!! STOP BEING SAD FOR ME! SHAKE UR A*S FOR ME INSTEAD!” His final IGS post was a selfie with the caption, “Imma look funny for a lil bit, but that’s it.”

This appears to be the first time Lil Nas X has publicly announced health issues related to his facial muscles. It’s unclear if this is a one-time occurrence, a side-effect of medication, or a symptom of a permanent health condition. Additionally, it’s unknown if the artist was released from the hospital or requires additional monitoring and testing. As of early Tuesday, the ‘Old Town Road’ singer has not shared any other updates or specifics.

Fans Flood Comment Section With Support

In less than 10 hours, Lil Nas X’s post received over 5,000 comments and nearly 138,000 likes. Celebrities like Taraji P. For context, Bell’s palsy is a weakness or paralysis in facial muscles that can happen to anyone at any age, per Johns Hopkins Medicine. While it can be linked to several diseases, from diabetes to high blood pressure and exposure to toxins, its exact cause remains unknown.

Justin Bieber Experienced Similar Facial Movement Loss

Lil Nas X’s comment section also had several mentions of Justin Bieber. That’s because, in the summer of 2022, the ‘Baby’ singer had to cancel several tour stops due to complications with Ramsey Hunt Syndrome. Like Nas, the condition had impacted movement on the right side of Bieber’s face. While it was only a temporary paralysis, it did impact his ability to move his nostril and even blink. At the time, he assured fans that the movement would return in due time.

Several months later, in March 2023, his facial movements returned. In a video, he showed fans an update, flexing his eyebrows, blinking his eyes, and grinning widely.
