Rob Gronkowski left squirming as teammate tells humiliating story about sex toys and Aaron Hernandez at his Hall of Fame induction

Rob Gronkowski was left squirming at his own induction into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame as a former teammate told a humiliating story about him bringing sex toys to training camp.

Gronkowski’s celebration brought together numerous Patriots legends who were part of his iconic career in Foxborough.

Tom Brady appeared on stage, 24 hours after Patriots fans turned on him over his potential absence from Sunday’s Super Bowl LI Anniversary celebration.

Brady was filmed hugging Gronkowski and chatting to current Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, who gave a cagey response about seeing the former quarterback this weekend pointing out he was ‘contractually obliged’ to speak to the now-Fox broadcaster before the network covers Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Owner Robert Kraft was absent from the event after undergoing surgery last week, but that did little to dampen the celebrations for arguably the greatest tight end in NFL history.

A host of Gronkowski’s former teammates took to the stage to tell stories about the 37-year-old – but not all of them shared tales that went down well with Gronkowski or those watching.

Former linebacker Niko Koutouvides felt compelled to recall a conversation with Gronkowski and fellow tight end Aaron Hernandez while they were at training camp before their second season in the league in 2011.

The pair were discussing sex toys they had brought to training camp, where they were staying in team-arranged accommodation to prepare for the new season.

Koutouvides said: ‘I’m going to ask all children here, whatever you hear, do not ask any questions after this, OK?

‘So Rob goes, ‘I just got the Jenna Jameson adult toy’, and for those who don’t know, Jenna Jameson, she was like an Oscar-winning actress, OK. ‘And this thing was awful, I got ripped off’.

‘So hold on, it gets a lot better than this guys. So then Aaron (Hernandez) rebuttals, ‘oh I got a whole package in college’, and started to go through the description of each procedure you needed to take in order to be successful.

‘And it included microwaves and oils and all types of stuff. So I’m going into my eighth year in the league, they’re just getting off their two phenomenal rookie seasons, they’re going into Year Two. Remember, this is his phenomenal second year.

‘And I’m like, ‘do I interject in this conversation?’ and I just couldn’t stay out of it. And I raised my hand and said ‘can I communicate something with the two of you?’

”Why are we talking about something that’s prosthetic, right? Outside that door when we get out in two and a half weeks, is everything we want outside that door!’

‘And they both look at me and they go ‘you’ve got a good explanation Niko but, more importantly, those two and a half weeks feel like three and a half years’.

‘And I said ‘we’re gonna have a great experience, the three of us’, and the rest is history from there.’

Gronkowski interjected as the story ended, stating: ‘Thank you very much, you’re done.’

One fan shared the clip on social media and wrote: ‘I don’t think Niko Koutouvides is getting another invite to speak at a Patriots event in the near future.’

Gronkowski and Hernandez formed a formidable tight end duo in their early years in the league. But Hernandez was arrested and later found guilty of first degree murder of Odin Lloyd after his third season.

He was later sentenced to life in prison then found dead in his cell in 2017 before being diagnosed with CTE after his brain was studied by doctors after his death.

Gronkowski went on to become a four-time Super Bowl champion, three of them with the Patriots, before retiring in 2021.

Former teammate Julian Edelman was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame last year, with Tom Brady inducted in 2024 and having a statue unveiled at Gillette Stadium last summer.
