The UFC reportedly defied a judge’s orders on Saturday by airing a Donald Trump ad which promised Americans a $5,000 check if Republicans keep control of Congress.
With midterm elections just around the corner, Trump made a final push to win over voters with the outlandish claim of a potential financial handout if they succeed.
In the unlikely event that the Republicans do maintain control of both the House and the Senate, the promised checks would still need to be appropriated by Congress.
Despite this, the administration maintained their promotion of the financial handout – dubbed the ‘Trump Dividend’ – last week, most recently during a UFC broadcast.
During the organization’s Fight Night event in Las Vegas broadcast on Paramount+, a picture-in-picture ad showed Trump making the $5,000 promise.
It didn’t take long for the ad to draw attention on social media. On X, one fan wrote: ‘Does anyone believe this?’

Another wrote: ‘I turned it off after I saw this’. Similarly, another fan said: ‘Ewww. Don’t give me more reasons to stop watching the UFC after 30 years.’
According to analyst Drew Lerner, the airing came just one day after a judge had ruled that the administration could no longer air it.
However, the administration has argued that the ads are public service announcements, rather than campaign ads.
The UFC has maintained a close relationship with Trump in recent years, most notably hosting an event on the White House lawn on his 80th birthday earlier this year.
Meanwhile on Monday, Trump floated putting his own name on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool as he wound up his midterm campaign in front of a few dozen seated supporters.
‘Today, I’m thrilled to announce the official opening of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool,’ the president said from a platform at the foot of the memorial, adding that he was giving ‘serious thought’ to rebranding it the ‘Trump Reflecting Pool.’

He said the announcement would land on Tuesday and that Interior Secretary Doug Burgum would ‘have a lot of fun’ making it, then delivered the tag: ‘Now, I’m only kidding.’
About 60 chairs had been set out for the audience with space for a few dozen reporters, and the refilled pool sat behind ballistic glass.
Trump talked up his Washington renovation projects for nearly 30 minutes and then held up photographs, pointing out which granite stones had been pulled and replaced.
‘This is a massive piece of pool,’ he said, calling it the biggest in the world.
