Latto is opening up about the unexpected way her baby girl made her grand entrance, revealing that she already had a plan in mind for when she wanted to give birth. And apparently, one extra-spicy seafood boil may have played an interesting role in how things unfolded.

Latto is giving fans a look back at the moments leading up to welcoming her daughter, and her labor story definitely wasn’t what some might expect. During an appearance on First We Feast’s ‘Hot Ones’ with host Sean Evans, the rapper revealed that she ordered a spicy seafood boil the night before her due date because she was ready to meet her baby. According to Latto, she wasn’t experiencing any signs of labor but had already decided that she wanted her daughter to arrive the following day. Hoping to give things a little push, she opted for an extra-hot seafood boil. Less than an hour after finishing the meal, she noticed liquid trickling down and soon realized her water had broken.

While some felt the timing could’ve simply been a coincidence, others chimed in with their own experiences and stories of what they believe helped get labor going. Meanwhile, a few couldn’t get past the seafood boil itself, joking that it must’ve been hitting REAL good!

Latto Shares What Pregnancy Was REALLY Like For Her

The rapper confirmed the arrival of her daughter, whom she shares with 21 Savage, in May. However, the couple has kept their little one’s identity private, choosing not to reveal her name or share photos of her face publicly. Latto also shared some behind-the-scenes details about recording her ‘Big Mama’ album while pregnant. She recalled becoming winded just from walking into the studio and making her way to the recording booth. She also joked about needing frequent bathroom breaks throughout the recording process.
