Christmas in London usually means twinkling lights, questionable office parties, and somebody stealing the last mince pie. In Black Doves Season 1, it meant assassinations, government secrets, and Keira Knightley turning festive cheer into an espionage emergency.

Her character, Helen Webb, was juggling motherhood, marriage to a politician, and a secret career selling intelligence when her lover’s murder sent everything spiraling. Enter Sam, a hitman with impeccable manners and enough emotional baggage to derail the Eurostar. Their bloody holiday adventure ended with several enemies buried and plenty of secrets intact.

Now, Netflix is reopening this particularly dangerous Christmas present.

Who is returning in the Black Doves Season 2 cast?

Keira Knightley as Helen Webb: A devoted mother and professional spy whose husband is approaching Britain’s highest political office. Keeping her double life concealed has become an Olympic-level balancing act.

Ben Whishaw as Sam Young: Helen’s loyal friend and former elite assassin now survives on Soho drinks and low-paying assignments. His next mission promises an exceptionally messy comeback.

Sarah Lancashire as Mrs. Reed: Helen’s calculating handler faces a conspiracy threatening her standing inside the Black Doves. Even the woman holding the strings can become a target.

Andrew Buchan as Wallace Webb: Helen’s politician husband is preparing to become prime minister, blissfully positioned beside a national-security nightmare. Downing Street might need stronger locks.

Ambika Mod as Laila: The One Day actress joins as a sharp-tongued, anarchic Black Doves operative assigned to assist Helen. Nothing says teamwork quite like an explosive new colleague.

Babou Ceesay as Mr. Conteh: The Alien: Earth actor plays a Black Doves executive whose motives are suspicious. Consider him the human equivalent of a blinking warning light.

Neve Campbell as Cecile Mason: The Scream veteran plays an American defense envoy entering London’s dangerous intelligence maze. Her presence adds another international player to the unfolding drama.

With this many dangerous personalities assembled, the next mission practically comes with its own red-alert siren.

When is Black Doves Season 2 coming, and what happens?

All six episodes of Black Doves premiere Thursday, November 5, 2026, exclusively on Netflix. Creator Joe Barton returns, with Julian Farino and Kieron Hawkes directing. The official trailer offers another helping of gunfire, glamorous outfits, and catastrophically inconvenient secrets.

Wallace’s political ascent brings Helen dangerously close to the heart of the British government. She continues feeding classified information to the Black Doves while Mrs. Reed becomes entangled in a scheme threatening her authority. Reed’s disappearance leaves Helen dangerously exposed as the stakes climb.

Meanwhile, Sam’s glamorous assassin days have given way to lonely evenings and cheap assignments. Legal trouble draws him into a mysterious arrangement, and reuniting with Helen becomes essential as their investigation reaches the organization’s inner workings.
