It’s close to midnight, and something evil’s lurking in the dark. 

And, no, it’s not Michael Jackson and his, er, thrilling dance moves. Rather, the beast that’s about to strike is Mercury retrograde and this time it has a spooky season companion. 

Making moves starting Oct. 24, “this retrograde in particular is specifically chaotic because Venus is retrograde as well,” astrologer Aliza Kelly explained in an exclusive interview with E! News. “So, we have both Venus and Mercury going backwards.”

They’ll continue their moonwalk in tandem until they each right themselves on Nov. 13. But until then, noted the AstroloTea with Aliza Kelly podcaster, it’s a bit of a double, double toil and trouble situation. 

“They have linked narratives right now,” said Kelly. “Venus is asking us to question and re-examine what our value sets are. And Mercury is asking us to think about the way that we’re communicating those values and what our social expectations are and how we can show up for ourselves by being the most authentic version of who we are. So, lots going on.”
