Yes, Pooh Shiesty is behind bars. But federal prosecutors are denying that his life in jail is as “inhumane” as he’s reportedly claimed. In new court documents, the government is pushing back against the rapper, suggesting he’s living it up while awaiting trial, which is set to start in 2027. Prosecutors responded in court after the rapper’s lawyers filed an emergency motion seeking an end to his solitary confinement.

Pooh Shiesty Wants To Be Back In General Population
For context, Pooh Shiesty’s attorneys filed a motion to get him out of solitary confinement on Oct. 15. At the time, they claimed he was being kept in solitary for 23 hours a day and was allowed only two hours of visitation per month. Additionally, the paperwork claimed no one had provided a reason for the solitary status. Moreover, his aunt also declared that she observed a mental decline in her nephew due to the conditions. He’s asking a judge to send him back to general population and to double his visit allowance to four a month.
Prosecutors Suggest Pooh Is Living Well Behind Bars
Meanwhile, federal prosecutors are giving Pooh Shiesty’s claims that “aht aht” energy, asking the judge to reject the rapper’s requests. In a response filing, the feds reportedly said the rapper has ample digital access, including television and email. They claim, per TMZ, that he’s sent or received 12,342 emails and had 231 video visits totaling 45 hours since July 1. And that’s not all. The rapper reportedly has a tablet with unlimited access to features like music, games, Netflix and even the NFL channel. Feds say his activity log on the tablet is 500 pages long with 30 entries per page, reports TMZ.
Prosecutors Say Solitary Confinement Is For Rapper’s Protection
As mentioned, Pooh Shiesty is petitioning the court to join gen. pop in and increased visitation. But federal prosecutors claim the seclusion is for the rapper’s own good. In their paperwork, the officials claim three inmates tried to break into the area Pooh was in, seeking autographs. Moreover, the feds say that Shiesty admitted to fentanyl use behind bars and had a history of disrupting jail operations.
Also, they’re not budging on the visitation increase, saying he’s getting the same number as the other inmates. Apparently, Pooh hasn’t had any visitors since August 27.
“It can hardly be said that these conditions of confinement are inhumane,” the prosecutors wrote in their filing.
