Rhett and Link Announce New Holiday Special

While the rest of Us are scrambling to assemble the perfect Halloween costumes and deciding who is (and isn’t) getting a seat at the Thanksgiving table, Christmas is coming early for fans of Good Mythical Morning.

Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, the comedic duo behind the hit YouTube series, are partnering with the interactive streaming platform Kiswe to unwrap their very first holiday spectacular, A Very Mythical Holiday Special — and if you’re not quite ready to deck the halls, well, “Let’s Talk About That.”

“The best part of the holidays is the annual reminder that a partridge does indeed live in a pear tree,” Rhett and Link tell Us. “The worst part is cutting your finger while opening a present and fainting into your father-in-law’s arms. Of course that never, ever happened to either one of us.”

Whether you’re a tinsel-tossing traditionalist or a bah-humbugging Scrooge, Rhett and Link have a few tricks up their Santa sleeves. “This is our first-ever holiday special, and we’re packing it with a little bit of everything that makes us, well, us,” the pair added in a press release.

Mariah Carey may be defrosting her high notes for another season takeover, but Rhett and Link have a few festive hijinks of their own in the works they’re ready to add to the rotation. Fans can join in on the festivities when A Very Mythical Holiday Special streams live on Friday, November 20, at 10 p.m. ET at Mythical.com/Live.

The internet stars are putting their own mythical spin on the classic Christmas variety special, with comedy sketches, original tunes, live musical performances, games, surprise guests and even a few fan-favorite characters — because after all, what’s a holiday celebration without a reunion or two?

“There’s a lot in this special that we haven’t had a chance to do in a while, and it’s been really fun bringing those elements back for our fans,” the two said in their press release.

Looking to cross off a Mythical Beast off your Christmas shopping list (or treat yourself to an early present)? Tickets go on sale Monday, October 19, at 6 a.m. ET, with the choice of a standard livestream ticket or a package wrapped with an exclusive gift inside. Both options include three festive bonus videos to stuff those stockings a little fuller.

“And since we’re doing it live, there’s always a chance something unexpected will happen,” Rhett and Link said. “We can’t wait to spend the holidays with our Mythical Beasts.”
