Husband & Son Died From Chest Stabbings

NBC News reports that officers arrived at Great Wolf Lodge at around 3:13 p.m. local time Monday. They described the caller, later identified as 27-year-old Metallica Rose Harrison, as “distressed” and shared that she was in Room 2030. She allegedly told the dispatcher she wanted to die by suicide but needed help “to find the vein in her neck to stab,” per the criminal complaint from Detective Earl Ackerman.

Additionally, Harrison told the dispatcher that police could find her husband, Charles Harrison, and son T.H.‘s bodies inside the Great Wolf Lodge room. “My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room,” she allegedly said.

Charles Harrison suffered “multiple stab wounds to the chest” while the three-year-old had a single stab wound, also in the chest, says the criminal complaint. “They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” Harrison reportedly said during the 911 call.

Investigators recovered the alleged murder weapon, a “large butcher kitchen knife” on the bathroom floor of the resort room’s bathroom. Also, officials found a “smaller knife” in the bathroom sink.

Family Spent 3 Weeks At Great Wolf Lodge Before Stabbing

According to the ongoing investigation, Metallica, her husband and their 3-year-old checked into Great Wolf Lodge on Sept. 21. They were supposed to check out on Tuesday, one day after the fatal stabbings. Police booked her on suspicion of two counts of homicide, per NBC, after an accompanied trip to the hospital. While in the ambulance, she reportedly said that she works so hard every day to “be the best person, the best mother, the best wife.” Also, she reportedly asked about how deep she should slice her wrist “next time.”

“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” Metallica Rose Harrison said, per the detective’s criminal complaint.

A judge on Tuesday ordered Metallica held in jail without bail pending police investigation. Meanwhile, Great Wolf Lodge released a statement about the fatal stabbings, calling it an isolated family incident.

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains,” Great Wolf Lodge said. Adding, “It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected.”

Another Domestic Killing In Pennsylvania

The family violence at Great Wolf Lodge comes just two days after a Pennsylvania grandfather shot 7 family members and a family friend last Friday. Matthew Stone Jr. reportedly killed his wife, two sons, pregnant daughter and her two young children, ages 1 and 5. A 51-year-old woman also died in the shootings. His motives are still being investigated. Police were not able to question Stone Sr. as the 45-year-old died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
