Aussie landscaper tragically killed during freak accident while at work: ‘He was the truest definition of selfless’

A young landscaper was struck and killed by an out-of-control car while doing the job he loved.

Kaine Fisher, 22, was working in the garden of a family friend in Carramar, in Perth’s north, on September 21 when a Toyota Corolla lost control, left the road and ploughed into the property.

Mr Fisher suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he later died.

His parents were holidaying overseas at the time and received a devastating late-night phone call telling them their son had been critically injured.

Mr Fisher’s heartbroken family later confirmed his death on the social media page for his landscaping and gardening business as they prepared to farewell him at his funeral on Wednesday.

‘Kaine was just 22 years old, living his best life, building his own landscaping business and, in true Kaine fashion, doing life entirely his own way,’ the post read.

‘He was the truest definition of selfless — always giving, always helping and always thinking of others. He took an immense pride in his work and in helping others.’

Mr Fisher didn’t have a bad bone in his body, according to a fundraiser set up for his family.

‘He was always there for anyone who needed a hand or needed some advice. He was taken from us way too soon, and he has had a massive impact on all of our lives,’ it read.

‘Words can’t describe how much he meant to us all, and I don’t think even Kaine knew the impact he had on us.’

Mr Fisher’s death sparked an outpouring of heartfelt tributes from clients and former teachers to his beloved footy club.

‘Kaine was a genuine spirit around the club,’ Warwick Greenwood Bulls Amateur Football Club posted.

‘Despite only playing one game before injuring himself and being unable to continue, he still showed up and helped wherever he could.

‘Many games he’d arrive straight from work (or in between jobs), still in his boots, and jump straight into a support role, running water or messages.’

Peter Moyes Anglican Community School remembered its 2022 graduate as the kind of person who made others feel seen, valued, and welcome.

‘His quiet strength and empathy left a lasting impact on many lives,’ the school wrote.

‘A proud leader of Durack House during his middle years, Kaine approached leadership with humility, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve others.

‘While our hearts are heavy as we farewell Kaine, they are also full of gratitude. We are thankful for the privilege of having shared in his educational journey and for the immeasurable contribution he made to our community.’

A 74-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the Toyota Corolla stopped at the scene and assisted major crash investigators with their inquiries.

Police investigations continue. No charges have been laid.
