Karoline Leavitt scores cushy Fox News job after White House exit

Outgoing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has landed a new gig at Fox News following her August exit from the Trump administration.

Leavitt, 29, a mother of two who departed to spend more time with her children, has landed a job as a contributor for Fox News, according to the New York Times.

Contributors at major cable networks serve as on-demand guests who can be booked for appearances.

Her first day will be November 1, the report says.

Leavitt was contacted for comment by the Daily Mail.

The announcement comes just days after President Donald Trump exploded in fury at the conservative broadcaster for not carrying live coverage of his recent campaign stops ahead of the midterms.

‘Sad to see that Fox & Friends (Sunday) is not covering our packed house and incredibly enthusiastic (beyond!) Rally that took place in Ohio last night, or the ones in Alabama, Texas, or Oklahoma over the past two days,’ the president posted on social media Sunday morning.

‘It’s the old undercurrent at FoxNews! Other networks are reporting about these Rallies, and really positively, like “crazy!” Our people want to see our Rallies, and reports on our Rallies, on FoxNews, or they will very quickly stop watching (like I am doing right now!).’

He accused the media giant of increasingly covering communists and socialists, blaming the poor decision-making on ‘the same loser that fired the great Maria Bartiromo,’ the former Fox Business host who cut ties with the network weeks ago.

Leavitt, who gave birth to her daughter Viviana, or ‘Vivi,’ in May, said in her departure that she would remain a vocal advocate for the MAGA movement and the Republican Party, and has appeared on Fox News and headlined recent GOP events.

Between appearances on Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters’ prime-time Fox News programs, the former press sec has landed enviable speaking slots at the GOP midterm convention in Dallas and last week’s White House rollout of an AI-powered government website.

While the relationship between Trump and the Rupert Murdoch-owned outlet may be complicated for the moment, the president has selected several top officials from amongst the cable news giant’s ranks.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth was a regular weekend host for the outlet before being tapped to lead the Pentagon.

Similarly, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy used to work at Fox Business, and  his wife Rachel Campos Duffy currently works at the outlet.

Trump has long preferred the network, mandating it airs on TVs across the White House, executive departments and agencies, and while he’s aboard Air Force One.

And the relationship between Trump and the outlet cuts both ways.

Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law and wife of Eric Trump, hosts a weekend program for Fox News.

Leavitt now follows in the footsteps of Trump's first-term press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, the co-host of the network's day time program 'Outnumbered,' in joining Fox News

Leavitt is now following in the footsteps of several press secretaries before her who have headed for cable following stints at the White House.

Trump’s first-term press secretary Kayleigh McEnany currently serves as a co-host of Fox News’ ‘Outnumbered’ daytime program. President George W Bush’s ex-press secretary Dana Perino also hosts several programs for the network.

Jen Psaki, the ex-press sec for President Joe Biden, now hosts a prime-time show on MS NOW.
