ON THE DOCKET FOR OCTOBER

Well, well, how is it the last day of September?! We are officially entering the final little bits of 2026. I always have a love-hate relationship with Q4. I do enjoy the holidays and I welcome the cooler weather here in Florida, but it is also the busiest time of year work wise. This year I am looking to find a little more balance in my holiday schedule, but we will see how that pans out! Below are some of the things on the horizon for October, items from my wish list, goals, and more…

TRAVEL // For October we are actually a bit light on travel, but of course that could change! We are heading to NYC for a week. While there we have a few meetings, a handful of things to shoot, and we will be on set for a new collaboration that is launching very soon. This collab was meant to be a smaller drop, but once we started working on the product it grew to be a bigger, more meaningful collection. I am so excited to share! I am always happy to be in NYC, and I am hoping to spend more time in the city during peak holiday to take in all the decorations. Despite the fact we spend a lot of time in the city it has been a few years since I have made it back in November or December for all things holiday.

WORK // As I mentioned, we are working on putting the final touches on a fun collab coming to you soon. Outside of that we are *hopefully* wrapping up two different interiors projects. Both will go live once we have all the assets in place. I have been working with an incredible interior designer that I admire to bring these two very different spaces to life. I love watching it all come together! Hint: for those of you who have been asking for a closet tour for years you may be getting your wish! I also have some really incredible brand partners I will be creating content with this month – two of which are your favorites!

GOALS // This month I have a few straightforward goals. I don’t have anything big or heavy on the list, more actionable items I want to focus on that are achievable. For me, this year has been all about trying not to pile up my to-do lists or feel weighed down by goals, but rather to ease up a bit and be more realistic about what can be done. There is only so much time in a day,

  • Jump back into reading. I only read two books last month and in October I would love to read at least five. I think this is rather doable. I plan to trade out some screen time in exchange for some cozy reading.
  • Add some miles. I have fallen behind on some of my running mileage and this month I am going to track my weekly runs more closely and hit at least 5 miles a day 3-4 times a week. Nothing crazy.
  • Consider starting a Substack. I have been going back and forth on this for some time. My main priority is to keep content flowing on this site. I own this site and have run it sine 2010. I believe Substack is a great way to find new readers and more easily connect with fellow creatives. I want to make sure I have 1. the bandwidth to do it and 2. the ability to make a Substack page feel distinct – and additive – to the content that is published here. I have an idea on how to execute on point 2, but point 1 is what I am hung up on. It is just me and one additional person running everything for the business – no agents, admins, or full-time employees. This is intentional. So, like any new endeavor, I need to feel comfortable that the time commitment will pay off.
  • Carve out at least 10 hours per week for cleaning and organizing. This is quite a bit of time, but we will need to start rearranging and moving things around our home once the new spaces are done. We have been living in a bit of a mess (actually a huge mess) the last few months and I am SO excited to finally declutter and give everything a proper home. Plus, I really enjoy cleaning and organizing!

STYLING // I officially switch to a fall mindset in October. Think layering, coats, luxe textures, and deeper, darker hues. Below I am highlighting a few of the pieces that I plan to style this month.

What has Arrived:

  • This brown blazer. I bought it in black and white already. I love the fit and quality so much and I wanted a brown version to style for fall with plaids and rich colored cords.
  • My favorite kitten heels. These animal print, pointy heels are one of my favorite purchases of 2026. I can’t wait to mix and match them with jewel tones.
  • Easy, cropped pants. I just picked up these pants in a new color – so excited. And I know these pants will be a go-to as well.
  • Black and gold pumps. I bought these to replace my very worn down Manolo black pumps. They are interesting without being too specific to style. Bonus points for comfort. I wore them all over Edinburgh and can’t wait to wear them in NYC.
  • Oversized studs. I just styled these earlier this week (as seen above). Initially I thought the color combo would make them tricky to mix and match, but I have been pleasantly surprised.
  • Plaid band jacket. I am in a band jacket mood and this one is going to be on repeat.
  • Faux fur statement jacket. This is such a great jacket. I am considering investing in this one as well!
