The author behind Tom Brady’s biography has labeled a narrative surrounding the former quarterback’s split from ex Bridget Moynahan.

Lars Anderson, the man who wrote ‘Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness,’ dove into the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s split from the actress and his subsequent romance and marriage to supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Speaking to Us Weekly on Tuesday, Anderson says that doing ‘the math’ reveals that the timeline ‘barely works in Tom’s favor.’

Brady, now 49, and Moynahan, now 55, dated for nearly three years before splitting in December 2006.

Three months later, in February 2007, Brady was informed that Moynahan was pregnant with his child. By that time, the quarterback had been dating Bundchen for two months.

At the time, Brady was criticized for seemingly breaking up with the actress to pursue Bundchen.

As Anderson wrote in the book, Brady’s first date with Bundchen was in December 2006. An obstetrics nurse told the writer that Moynahan’s date of conception would have been in late November of that same year, just two weeks before his first date with the Brazilian supermodel.

Moynahan was left ‘heartbroken’ over the split, according to the author, with the actress calling Brady that February while he was vacationing in Paris with Bundchen to inform him of her pregnancy.

The ensuing coverage led to a ‘global media firestorm,’ Anderson writes, ‘that turned their private dilemma into a public spectacle.

Anderson also revealed that Bundchen ‘didn’t know what to do with the news’ and even wondered if she should encourage Brady to raise a family with his ex.

In the end, Anderson pens, ‘the most famous supermodel in the world chose to stay with Brady as he was about to become the father to another woman’s child.’

Moynahan welcomed a son – Jack, now 19 – in August of 2007. Brady and Bundchen were married in 2009 in two ceremonies – one in Los Angeles and the other in Costa Rica.

The couple had two children together – son Benjamin, now 16, and daughter Vivian, now 13 – before they ended their relationship in 2022.

That end came after Brady reversed course on his retirement from football to play one final season, eventually retiring in 2023 ‘for good.’
