On Monday, Beau Lamarre-Condon’s former friend Georgia Cook told the court about a Thai dinner she had with him.
She said Lamarre-Condon had arrived at the Thai restaurant in Kirribilli on May 29, 2023, and almost immediately asked: ‘Would you help me hide the body?”.
Lamarre-Condon told her that he knew what to do with dead bodies, the court heard.
Lamarre-Condon allegedly told Ms Cook: ‘After I killed them, I would take their stuff, I would take them to a dumpster and I would take their bodies to bushland where no one would ever find them.’
Ms Cook (pictured below, after leaving court) told the court, ‘I’ll never forget’ what Lamarre-Condon said.
Luke Davies’s friend Daniel Hart told the court he received messages from Jesse Baird’s Instagram account after the alleged double murder.
Mr Hart said he went to dinner with Baird and Davies on February 18, 2024 – the night before they died.
He had known Davies for almost five years and they used to go to the gym together.
At 10.20am on February 19, 2024, Mr Hart texted Davies asking if he wanted to go to the gym.
The message was sent but never delivered, so Mr Hart tried again on Instagram. Davies didn’t reply.
The following evening, at 11.35pm on February 20, Mr Hart decided to message Baird instead, asking where Davies was: ‘Hello, is your wife alive?’
He received a response from Baird’s account, which read: ‘Hello haha he did smash his phone screen Monday so I don’t know if he’s got that fixed yet.’
On the morning of February 21, Mr Hart replied: ‘Oh hahaha that makes sense, none of my messages were delivering.’
Mr Hart sent another message to Baird that afternoon, saying: ‘So apparently police found Luke’s wallet and called his mum, no one can get in touch with him and they’re freaking out, have you spoken to him?’
No response was received. He also tried to call Baird a number of times but no one answered.
Prosecutors allege Baird and Davies (pictured together below) were killed at about 9am on February 19, 2024.
Police cameras also show cleaners at Jesse Baird’s house (pictured above) just two days after the alleged double murder, even though it had been declared a crime scene.
Detective Senior Constable Alistair Wright told the court he went to Baird’s home in Paddington on February 21, 2024.
By that stage, Baird and Luke Davies had been dead for two days, but no one knew that at the time.
Their bodies hadn’t been found, and Lamarre-Condon hadn’t been arrested, but police were investigating their disappearances.
Body-worn footage showed Mr Wright and a colleague knocking on Baird’s door at about 1.15pm that afternoon, saying: ‘Hello, it’s just the police.’
Eventually, a female cleaner answered the door and said the tenants weren’t home.
She told police that she was hired to clean the house because Baird was supposed to have moved out that day, the footage showed.
Lamarre-Condon’s former police colleague Kate KcKinley told the court he was ‘jealous’ and ‘p***ed off’ when Baird started seeing Davies.
On February 22, 2024 – three days after the alleged murders – she sent Lamarre-Condon a Facebook message with a link to the article saying, ‘Please tell me this isn’t your ex-lover??’
He didn’t reply.
