Indiana Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti has brutally put fans in their place after supporters moaned about the team’s margin of victory during a recent game. 

The Hoosiers cruised to a 38-0 shutout over Western Kentucky last weekend to improve to 3-0 on the season and extend their record under Cignetti to 30-2.

However, after Indiana went scoreless in the first quarter and held just a 14-0 lead at the break, fans took to social media to complain about their sluggish start.

The gripes did not sit well with the 65-year-old head coach, who issued a fiery and unfiltered reminder to fans during a radio appearance on Thursday afternoon.

‘What are we, 29-2?’, Cignetti said, actually underselling the program’s 30-2 record since taking over. ‘When I came, I saw the pictures, 10,000 people in the stands. 

‘Don’t b**** about a 38-0 win’.

His blunt response drew immediate attention on social media after fans were left stunned by the X-rated outburst. 

Before Cignetti’s arrival, Indiana had not won a bowl game since the 1991 Copper Bowl and finished the 2023 campaign with a dismal 3-9 record under Tom Allen.

Cignetti has been credited with engineering their historic turnaround, leading the side to an 11-2 record in 2024 before an unblemished 16-0 national championship in 2025. 

The meteoric rise appears to have warped expectations in Bloomington, where the No. 5 ranked Hoosiers have outscored their opponents by a margin of 145-16.

Despite the back-to-back shutouts, Cignetti made it clear he expects the Hoosier faithful to remain humble as Indiana opens Big Ten conference play against Northwestern on Friday night.
