A heartbreaking obituary was penned for the two-year-old boy who was allegedly hanged by his own Lindsay Clancy-obsessed mother in Illinois.

Barrett Mark Walsh’s family remembered the toddler as ‘joyful, funny, entertaining, rambunctious’ in the tribute published on Wednesday.

The touching obituary describes Barrett as a ‘cherished little brother’ to his older siblings Grady and Anna and as a ‘caring big brother’ to a baby boy.

Barrett – affectionately known as ‘Bear’ – loved singing and dancing ‘to Super Simple Songs and Miss Rachel, learning his colors with Pinkfong and Hogi.’

His family wrote that he enjoyed playing soccer with friends and counting out loud to 5 Little Duckies.

‘He loved animals, bedtime stories’ and ‘doing the good-bye dance with joyous perfection.

‘Bear will forever be missed by all who knew him, especially the way his smiling face would light up a room and fill it with joy, wonder and awe,’ the obit states.

The two-year-old was found with a rope around his neck in their family home on September 1.

His mother, Corie Walsh, 40, was charged with first-degree murder after she was found in a bloodied upstairs bathtub trying to harm herself with a blunt kitchen knife, according to the pre-trial release denial petition.

Walsh was suffering from a ‘psychotic episode’ when she allegedly killed her two-year-old son, her attorneys told her detention hearing earlier this month.

She had ‘fixed, dilated eyes,’ a ‘weird giggle’ and was ‘unlike her normal self’ when her neighbor found her in the tub, the court heard.

In an attempt to further demonstrate her alleged psychosis, Walsh’s attorney Robert Kerr told the judge how his client was unaware of what was happening to her and gave conflicting reports to investigators.

The same neighbor who found Walsh tried to perform CPR on the young boy, but Barrett did not have a pulse anymore and was cold to the touch. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Barrett died of ‘asphyxia due to ligature compression of the neck,’ according to court records that cited the boy’s autopsy.

Prosecutors said the mother was invested in the Lindsay Clancy case and gave an unhinged interview to detectives after she allegedly killed her son, a court heard. 

The New York Post also reported that Corie was previously texting her friends in a group chat about the Lindsay Clancy trial jury deliberations which were happening hours before she allegedly murdered her own son.

The texts were described as ‘confusing’ and ‘out of character’ and appear to show that she believed that Clancy’s husband killed the children – not their mother, according to the Post.
