AI Producer Expands LA Office By Hiring CAA Agent

EXCLUSIVE: Wonder Studios, the UK-based AI production outfit valued at $50 million last year, has expanded its Los Angeles operation with two hires.

Inder Gill, a media finance agent at CAA, is joining Wonder as head of studio partnerships and packaging. He helped package and finance films including Monkey Man and If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.

Ryan Ascencio, co-CEO of Patreon-style company FanFix and formerly EVP of corporate development at Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Westbrook, becomes head of growth.

Wonder’s Los Angeles studio will be based at The Lighthouse Campus in Venice Beach, alongside existing teams in London and New York. The company said 90% of its revenue originates from the U.S.

Since launching last year, Wonder has raised $15 million to hit a $50 million valuation, produced re-creation scenes for Campfire’s The Real Wolf of Wall Street, collaborated with Lewis Capaldi on a music video, and made YouTube anthology series Beyond the Loop.

Xavier Collins, co-founder and CEO of Wonder Studios, said: “Wonder has been a global business from day one. While we are proud of our European roots, the U.S. is where the overwhelming majority of our work has come from – winning work with some of the world’s biggest brands and streamers.”

Gill said: “Wonder is redefining what a project costs and how quickly it can come to life, all while empowering filmmakers.”
