As the show continued, the show focused on adding shock value in the plot, which meant losing all sense of logic. The storyline started including cults, organ harvesting, serial killers, and dark twists that made the plot more confusing than thrilling. 

The characters changed drastically from the pilot (and not for the good), and the stories became quite ridiculous by the end.
