The ‘Dawson’s Creek’ alum made their relationship Instagram official earlier this month

Katie Holmes and her boyfriend Jason Bard Yarmosky are making the most of the last few weeks of summer.

On Sunday, Sept. 6, Yarmosky posted a carousel of photos on Instagram, showing the pair smiling for the camera during a romantic getaway to Italy.

One image captured the couple from the back as they took a speedboat out on Lake Como, while a second photo showed Holmes, 47, relaxing and looking out at the water.

Other shots showed Yarmosky posing on the vessel in front of the picturesque surroundings, Holmes making a heart shape in the water and relaxing on the boat.

The couple was all smiles as they posed together on the vessel in black outfits as the sun went down behind them in another shot, while further pictures included one of Holmes sunbathing in a white bikini and one of her beaming during her time on the water.

The Dawson’s Creek alum was also seen laughing as she and her boyfriend appeared to lay on a bed in a cute image, while another showed her doing a crab walk on the top of the boat in front of a sunset.

A final shot focused on a man slurping from a bowl with a glass of white wine in front of him.

“Life is a friend of art,” Yarmosky captioned the post.

The post came just days after Holmes made her relationship with Yarmosky Instagram official.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, Holmes wished her boyfriend a happy birthday on social media. 

“Happy Birthday to the best of the best…❤️,” she captioned a two-photo Instagram carousel, while tagging the New York City-based artist.

In the first slide, the pair laughed while leaning their heads on one another as they stood against a wall, with Holmes lovingly holding him by the waist. Meanwhile, the second photo focused on a birthday cake with candles lit around its perimeter.

The  Happy Hours actress was also seen celebrating Yarmosky’s special day in a video shared on her Instagram Stories, showing the couple at his birthday dinner. The clip was later reposted by British visual artist and songwriter Shantell Martin.

The sweet video showed Yarmosky sitting at a table and blowing out the candles on his cake, while those in the cozy setting cheered him on. 

A source previously told PEOPLE that the couple, who were first linked earlier in the summer, “looked very cute” as they were spotted out together on July 10. They were photographed holding hands at a screening of Olivia Wilde‘s film The Invite in East Hampton, N.Y.

“He was whispering in her ear, and she was laughing, they seemed very easy together and there was a smile on her face all night,” the source said at the time. “They sat together during the movie, she had her head on his shoulder at one point.”

An insider close to Holmes then revealed that she and Yarmosky had initially hit it off while at a dinner, before they began seeing each other afterward.

“They went on a date shortly after and she finds him interesting,” the source said. “Katie has always been drawn to people who are creative. She loves being around people who are passionate about what they do. She enjoys learning and experiencing new things.”
