A 20-year-old man has been stabbed to death following a car crash in Newcastle-under-Lyme, with three men arrested on suspicion of murder-related offences.
Jamie Evans, from Stone, was involved in a collision between his red Ford Fiesta and a grey Audi on Friday afternoon in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
He was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing, with members of the public rushing to his aid before emergency services arrived.
Jamie was taken to hospital for treatment, but sadly died from his injuries despite efforts by medical staff to save him.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, while a third has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
His family paid tribute to the young man on Sunday, describing the warmth, kindness and sense of humour that they said brought happiness to everyone who knew him.
They said Jamie was passionate about cricket and fitness and loved being active, challenging himself and spending time doing the things he enjoyed.
They added: ‘These passions reflected his determination, energy and zest for life.

‘Although his life was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
‘He will be deeply loved, profoundly missed and never forgotten.’
The family also thanked members of the public who stopped to help Jamie in the moments after he was injured.
‘We’d like to thank the members of the public who so kindly went to Jamie’s aid and tried to help him,’ they added.
Emergency services were called to Orme Road shortly after 5pm on Friday, September 4, following reports of an injured man.
Jamie was taken to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.
Three men have since been arrested as detectives investigate his death.
A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both from the Newcastle-under-Lyme area, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 19-year-old man, also from the area, has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
All three remain in custody and are continuing to be questioned.
Jamie’s family is being supported by specially trained officers as the investigation continues.
Detective Inspector Stephen Ward said: ‘We are working hard to understand more about what happened leading up to the driver of the vehicle losing his life.’
