Man, 25, who fled police at Notting Hill Carnival and jumped into canal suffered injuries in water before dying in hospital



A man who jumped into a canal while fleeing officers at Notting Hill Carnival suffered injuries in the water before dying at hospital, it has emerged. 

Police named Karnell Kelly, aged 25, as the man who was pulled from the Grand Union Canal near a park in North Kensington, west London, on Monday afternoon. 

He was given CPR before being rushed to hospital, where he later died.

Officers had briefly spoken to Kelly, who was wearing a face covering, as he approached the carnival area about 3.30pm on Monday.
