It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period as clubs look to make big signings ahead of the new season.

United academy star heads for Rotherham loan
Manchester United academy midfielder Jayce Fitzgerald is set to join Rotherham United on loan.
Daily Mail Sport understands the 19-year-old, who has never previously been out on loan, is keen to test himself in a senior set-up after excelling at Under-21s level.
Fitzgerald will head to Rotherham, the club who helped develop fellow Manchester United youngster Dan Gore last season. Gore won their Player of the Season award.

Foxes on the hunt
Leicester City, who visit MK Dons in League One today, want to sign either George Dobson or Matty James from Wrexham and are asking about both midfielders.
Wrexham are still in for Leicester centre back Harry Souttar as they juggle targets.
City’s Bah talks over move to Germany
Manchester City centre back Juma Bah is in talks to join Augsburg on loan.
The 20-year-old 6ft 5in defender spent last season on loan at Nice.
Leeds try Harder ahead of deadline
Leeds United maintain an interest in RB Leipzig forward Conrad Harder though they face competition for the Denmark international.
Leipzig are finalising a deal for Chelsea’s Marc Guiu to increase competition for places. Leeds winger Willy Gnonto is attracting attention from Fiorentina meanwhile.
The winger has missed Leeds’ first two games of the season with a hamstring injury he sustained during pre-season.

Black Cats enquire about Malick
Sunderland have asked about Lyon winger Malick Fofana.
The 21-year-old has been discussing a move to Roma but Sunderland have made a late check as their own pursuit of a winger has hit a few bumps.
They remain in talks for Igor Paixao from Marseille and had placed an offer for Geny Catamo at Sporting Lisbon but have still to reach breakthrough.
They also enquired for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish earlier this week but believe he may end up at Tottenham.
Besiktas ask about Sarr
Besiktas have asked about signing Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr on a permanent deal.
The Senegal international also has Monaco and Nottingham Forest offers to consider
Elliott a target for Valencia
Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is being eyed by Spanish side Valencia.
As Daily Mail Sport reported yesterday, the 23-year-old has interest from a number of clubs with Lazio and Napoli among them but Valencia are hopeful they can sign the England U21 international on loan.
Liverpool have still to receive an official approach but are aware of interest.

Malaga push for Everton’s Aznou
Malaga are progressing in talks to sign Adam Aznou from Everton.
Aznou came on as a substitute in the 4-0 win over Preston North End in midweek but has struggled since joining from Bayern Munich.
Everton have checked on Melvin Bard at Nice, among others.
Toon press on with Pardo move
Newcastle United are continuing to discuss a move for Lille forward Mathias-Fernandez Pardo and appreciate Bilal El Khannouss at Stuttgart.
El Khannouss, formerly of Leicester, has been mentioned at Everton also as they anticipate bids for Iliman Ndiaye.
Fulham in for Vallecano defender
Fulham are trying to complete a deal for Rayo Vallecano defender Andrei Ratiu.
The Romania right-back has already approved the move but there had been interest from Nottingham Forest also. The 28-year-old can also play in midfield.
Everton have shown interest in Fulham’s Timothy Castagne who has a year left in contract.

Nottingham Forest are continuing attempts to rebuild their midfield following Elliot Anderson’s sale.
They are speaking to Everton about a deal worth £40m for their homegrown 19-year-old midfielder Harrison Armstrong, who started against Crystal Palace last week.
They have enquired about a loan with option to buy Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham, who also has Monaco interest.
And they are continuing talks with Corinthians for 20-year-old Brazilian Andre.
Forest are close to reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace for Daniel Munoz. Forest made a £22m bid earlier this week and negotiations are at the final stages.

Mbaye due to undergo Villa medical
Ibrahim Mbaye is due to undergo his medical later today and complete his transfer to Aston Villa from Paris Saint-Germain over the weekend.
The contract is being finalised and the deal for the 18-year-old is worth £47m.
PSG are making up to £170m from the deals for Bradley Barcola and Mbaye.
Spurs reject loan offer for defender
Tottenham have rejected a loan offer from Sunderland for Kevin Danso.
Sunderland explored the potential of taking the 27-year-old on a season loan.

Barcola set for Liverpool medical
Bradley Barcola is due on Merseyside this weekend to undergo a medical after Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain reached agreement on a £106million fee rising to £123m.
The 23-year-old France international is set sign a Liverpool contract until 2031 after the Anfield club finalised the structure of the transfer over the past 24 hours.
Liverpool are now set to pay £17m in add-ons.
Documents are still to be exchanged between the clubs and details are being arranged for Barcola to travel.
Liverpool are continuing to pursue another winger though Crystal Palace want a substantial fee for Ismaila Sarr after initial conversations last week.
Alternatives are being explored though Sarr, 28, is keen on the move. Palace have also asked about Torino’s Alieu Njie and are in the throes of selling Daniel Munoz to Nottingham Forest.
