The King was pictured going out for a drive during his holiday in Balmoral today, hours after his youngest son Prince Harry returned to begin a new life in Britain.
Charles was photographed behind the wheel of a Range Rover with his flat cap on the dashboard as he drove through Braemar in Aberdeenshire near his estate.
The 77-year-old monarch has been spending time at Balmoral since his arrival on Tuesday last week, and was seen attending a Sunday church service at Crathie Kirk.
