time, allowing him to audition for the high school musical production of Guys
and Dolls sometime in 1979. 

Playing the character Nathan Detroit, his energetic stage
presence immediately caught the attention of a commercial director attending
the show, who advised him to pursue acting. Following that professional advice,
the teenager traveled to New York City on weekends to attend theater auditions.
His dedication to performing grew so intense that he ultimately skipped his
high school graduation ceremony to appear in an amateur production of the musical
Godspell.

That pivotal decision marked the definitive transition from
