Horror is one of the most popular genres, with countless fans watching scary movies and shows year-round. As shown by the success of summer movies like Obsession and Backrooms, there is a massive audience eager to watch new, original horror films. With so many people flocking to theaters to see scary movies, streaming services are able to reach a massive fanbase by bringing horror right to their homes.
Though many streaming services already offer a wide variety of horror movies, subscription costs have risen high enough to scare some audiences away. However, ad-supported streaming services like Tubi, Pluto TV, and Plex have become havens for horror fans looking to stream their scary favorites for free.
Tubi, in particular, reported that its users stream over 53 million hours of horror content each month, according to Cord Cutter News. The service has further embraced its status as a horror movie destination by launching the Terror on Tubi hub. With this new feature, Tubi will provide a home dedicated to its extensive horror catalogue, which currently offers over 13,000 hours of scary content to stream, from blockbusters to lesser-known gems.
“Horror isn’t seasonal. For millions of fans, it’s their version of comfort viewing: something they return to ritualistically all year round,” said Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer at Tubi. “We custom-built Terror on Tubi to give that fandom a home so they can indulge in what they already love and then follow the rabbit hole to discover something unexpected.”
Terror on Tubi has new and classic content
More Tubi horror originals are on the way
If you make your way to Terror on Tubi, you’ll see that the streaming service has no shortage of well-known horror movies and thrillers. These classic films include Scream, Carrie, Night of the Living Dead, 2018’s Halloween, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and all three Terrifier films, just to name a few. It also features hit horror shows like The Twilight Zone, Scream: The TV Series, and Tales from the Crypt.
In addition, Tubi features original scary films like Stepfather, Hive, Lowlifes, Please Don’t Feed the Children, and R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead. The service will soon release more original feature films designed to terrify users later this fall, including Buzzkill and R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2.
Tubi will also release new “creator-led programming that brings a new generation of horror storytellers and fandoms into the mix,” wrote Cord Cutter News. These creator exclusive series include like Carter’s Haunted House, Creepers, Unlikely Co-hosts, Ghost Hunting, and Unlisted.
How can I stream Terror on Tubi?
