Following several turbulent months and the forthcoming end of her beverage brand, Alex Cooper is embracing change — at least when it comes to her representation.
The Call Her Daddy host is in serious talks with CAA, Deadline can confirm. Nothing is signed, sealed and delivered yet, but the expectation is Cooper will make the uberagency her new home after a sudden but not all together unexpected exit from UTA.
Cooper’s team were mum on the move, and CAA declined to comment. UTA did not respond to Deadline’s request for comment on Cooper’s departure from her now former long time business building home. Bloomberg were first to report on Cooper’s agency shift.
Along with apparent feuds with Dave Portnoy and ex-Cooper ally Alix Earle (both repped by UTA BTW), the blockbuster podcaster has seen a lot of not so great attention directed to her spouse Matt Kaplan, Specfically, Kaplan has been accused of fostering an overly aggressive and toxic workplace at Unwell.
Still, with $125 million from a new UTA negotiated deal with SiriusXM in 2024, Cooper and Kaplan’s Unwell Media aren’t exactly hurting for cash. Add to that, the company saw a big injection of cash last week from Patrick Whitesell and Jason Lublin.
With 100 million followers across various platforms, Unwell pulls the strings on a podcast network of more than a dozen shows reaches millions of listeners daily. As well as that new SiriusXM partnership, Unwell has put extra emphasis of late on growing its YouTube presence.
The WTSL investment manifested with Unwell getting a $500 million valuation.
Because, regardless of your agency, nothing says call me like cold hard cash.
