Counteroffers. The Road to Ruin?
Hi! I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter and welcome to another video in the Ask The Big Game Hunter series. Now, I’ve received a question today. I’m going to do my best to answer it.
The question is, how can I do well in interviews? It’s too general a question is one obvious thing I have to say. I don’t know you. I don’t know how you perform so I have to give a basic answer here.
Number one is you have to do research. Research the firm. Research the individual that you’re going to be speaking with.
Again, I don’t know if this is a phone interview or an in-person interview but research is a certain component of it. Number two, understand the job. What do they want to hire you for? Why are they interviewing you? What’s the nature of the position? What is it in your background that fits this role? That’s the second thing.
Number three, practice. Now, practice comes in a variety of different forms. Now, there are hundreds of questions that you could, in theory, be asked.
Now, I have a bunch of them on my website, TheBigGameHunter.us. The two tabs you might look at are tough interview questions and the other one involves interview brain teasers. Not knowing the nature of the firm that you’re interviewing with, obviously, it could be either type of question or both. So, spend some time reviewing answers.
Practice, practice, practice. When top performers are starting out, they don’t just simply wing it. They rehearse.
They rehearse so that things become second nature. Athletes, best athletes in the world, don’t just simply perform willy-nilly. They practice in order to develop the muscle memory in order to perform well.
So, you have to do much the same thing. Again, visit my website, TheBigGameHunter.us. You can watch my videos there. I also want to mention, if you’re interested, I have a couple of audios that coach people for in-person interviewing and for phone interviews.
I do charge for them. They’re very inexpensive. If you don’t want to order, no problem.
I’m not getting rich off these audios but they do provide good information that will help you get prepared for your interviews. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. Hope you found this helpful.
Take care!
