“I was speaking off the cuff in a Cameo and should not have speculated about the production schedule or episode count,” Walsh told Variety in an Aug. 13 statement. “I don’t have any official information to announce, and I’m sorry for creating confusion for the production and the fans. My Cameo account is paused for now.”
The 62-year-old also emphasized his gratitude to be involved in the show—which also stars Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov—adding, “I’m incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm surrounding Heated Rivalry and proud to be part of the series.”
Though the production has not announced details about episode count, the series has revealed the team that will be skating into season two alongside Williams and Storrie.
In addition to Charlie Gillespie and Justice Smith coming aboard to play Troy Barrett and Harris Drover, respectively, the Heated Rivalry team shared that Schitt’s Creek alum Emily Hampshire, Young Royals actor Edvin Ryding, Drag Race Canada winner Priyanka, comedian Sabrina Jalees and actor Robert Naylor will suit up for the upcoming season.
