Brennan Johnson hits back at Jamie O’Hara and Gabby Agbonlahor after pair poked fun at swap deal with Dwight McNeil: ‘We’ll give you c**p, we’ll give you c**p back!’

Brennan Johnson has clapped back at Jamie O’Hara and Gabriel Agbonlahor after the pair mocked his latest transfer.

Johnson has joined Everton in a swap deal from Crystal Palace with Dwight McNeil going the other way.

Johnson’s time in south-east London was brief, having only moved to the club in January from London rivals Tottenham.

Following confirmation of the transfer on Tuesday, O’Hara and Agbonlahor discussed the details while speaking on talkSPORT.

‘I like Dwight McNeil,’ O’Hara said during the discussion. ‘Brennan Johnson has been a myth for a few seasons. He didn’t do it at Spurs. He hides in games.’

Agbonlahor then chimed in with: ‘You look at their output last season, it’s a bit like “you give us him and we’ll give you him!”‘

As the duo laughed, O’Hara then threw in another jab, commenting: ‘We’ll give you crap, we’ll give you crap back!’

Johnson though, hit back at the pair on Instagram, writing under the post: ‘Won more than both of these put together.’

And the Wales international is not lying, having won two major trophies so far compared to the one combined between his two critics.

O’Hara won the 2007-08 League Cup with Tottenham, while Agbonlahor won nothing during his career. However, Johnson scored the winning goal in the Europa League final in 2024-25 for Tottenham and won the Europa Conference League with Palace last season.

Following criticism of his comments, O’Hara took to X on Wednesday to defend himself, writing: ‘This the prob [problem] when you only listen to a clip and not full story.

‘We were talking about Brennan and McNeil stats from last season which were C**P not that they were bad players, I’m a fan of McNeill [sic] and also said Brennan has all the attributes but he would admit his season was crap.’

Agbonlahor was on talkSPORT again on Wednesday morning and apologised for any outburst, directing the blame from O’Hara.

‘What did I do wrong? It was Jamie that said ‘c**p for c**p,” Agbonlahor said tongue-in-cheek.

‘I want to apologise to Brennan Johnson. I could have not laughed, but when someone makes you laugh it’s normal to start laughing.

‘I thought Jamie O’Hara was out of order. I think Jamie needs to apologise. You can’t say ‘cr*p for cr*p’. I thought Jame was out of order looking back at that now.’
