Chock Chapple Gets Prostate Removed After Cancer Scare

The Golden Bachelorette winner Chock Chapple has revealed that he underwent surgery to remove his prostate due to a recent cancer scare.

“Elevated PSA. Biopsy, MRI, another biopsy. Turned aggressive. Last Wednesday I had my prostate removed,” Chapple, 62, who is engaged to Joan Vassos, captioned a Tuesday, August 11, Instagram video that was filmed alongside Vassos, 63, at his Wichita, Kansas, home. (PSA refers to prostate-specific antigen, described by the National Cancer Institute as a protein in the blood that is tested to ensure a safe level.)

“Lost my mother to cancer. I know what’s at stake. My son asked how much time I wanted with my grandkids, and that made the decision easy. Get it removed. Be around. For them. For Joan, for the rest of her life,” Chapple continued. “Guys, get tested. Have your PSA checked. Early is everything. Trip to Europe is still on for the end of August. Cleared to travel, and I’m ready!”

Chapple, who is father to two children whom he shares with ex-wife Heather Chapple, expanded on his health update within the video, revealing that a blood test that was conducted after his time on The Golden Bachelorette drew red flags.
