Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jnr has deleted all posts from his Instagram account amid speculation surrounding his future.

The Brazil international has been offered a mouth-watering £19million a year contract renewal at Los Blancos, but is yet to make a decision on his future.

But their hopes of retaining the 26-year-old for the upcoming season seemingly took a slight hit on Wednesday night by deleting his entire Instagram history.

Vinicius’ page, which has 64.1million followers – somehow growing by 200,000 since his post exodus – currently displays no images or bio and he’s also removed his profile picture. 

The attacker’s current terms with Madrid expire at the end of next season and Arsenal have made their interest in the star known. If he fails to find agreement with the Spanish giants, they will be ready to pounce.

However, despite the Premier League champions lingering, and Vinicius’ surprise social media deletion, Real are believed to be increasingly confident of keeping the Brazilian superstar at the Bernabeu.

Talks between the player’s agents, general director Jose Angel Sanchez and chief scout Juni Calafat took place in Madrid on Wednesday. Jose Mourinho also underlined that the winger is firmly in his plans.

Vinicius’ dramatic move to delete all social media posts could be cause for concern for Madrid, though. 

While it is not uncommon among footballers – it could be interpreted in a number of different ways but typically can be interpreted as dissatisfaction with the current club.

This comes three days after he returned from his post-World Cup holiday, and started training under the new Mourinho regime.

Speaking to Real Madrid TV earlier this week, Vinicius said: ‘It has ⁠gone very well, getting to know the new coach and the new ​players, and training very hard. Mourinho wants me to be as I have always been: happy, cheerful ‌and playing my football.’

But there is still hope on Arsenal’s side that they can swoop in and sign the superstar, if the opportunity arises.

The Gunners made initial enquiries into the player last week, with manager Mikel Arteta insisting that the Premier League winners will be ‘very ambitious’ during the summer’s transfer window.

One of the major sticking points in negotiations between Real and Vinicius’ camp has been the re-signing fee. But the latest increase in their offer has left Real confident that Vinicius Jr will commit his future to the Spanish giants.

Real do not want to lose the Brazilian on a free, with his contract set to expire in less than a year.

The player is thought to view any contract he signs with Los Blancos, where he has played since 2018, as the defining deal of his career – and recognition of his efforts for the club that in recent seasons have seen him become a Ballon d’Or contender in their colours.
