After an amazing journey across the Great Plains of America, we are now in Idaho and finally in our new home. If you have ever moved cross-country, you will understand just how much work it is, but also how much of a relief it is to finally get to the new location and start setting up your new home/life.

The annoying part is the bureaucracy of it all, especially in this day and age. I spent 1.5 hrs trying to call Waste Management, only for them to not pick up, and get help from the online chat much faster. But hey, I am not trying to complain (just a little ;-). I am just grateful to be here and done with that very long and tiring move!

Our trip across the Northern part of America was great. While I have traveled quite extensively throughout my life, I had never been to many of the states that we visited, namely: Wisconsin, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. It was nice to see them and be able to experience some of the small towns that we stayed at. And more importantly, see Mount Rushmore, which I had always wanted to see.

I was a bit surprised by the dystopian nature of Iowa, the insane amount of windmills, and the endless cornfields. Something about the structure of windmills has always felt weird to me. Couple that with never-ending cornfields, and you feel like you are in an apocalyptic movie. No offense to those from there. The beauty of the greenery was nice. For some reason, I thought it was a more arid state. I did find a beautiful lookout, which was my favorite part of that state. See it above.

But now we are home, unpacking it all and trying to get into the swing of things. My new desk is arriving today, so hopefully I will have my new office set up soon. I can then get back to more computer work and posts for all of you to read. Thanks for bearing with me on what has felt like the longest break of my life on the blog. I don’t think that I have ever posted so infrequently. But that will soon come to an end, and I will hopefully have an influx of great content for all of you.
